Feeling something with your life is out of place is not something you need in your relationship.  This can be corrected.  Emotions-focused couples therapy will allow you and your partner to come together to brighten your day, let go of old habits that create triggers or resentment, and create new habits that bring you closer.

I’m Charlie, and I can help.  I am a Psychotherapist, EMDR specialist, Executive Therapist & Coach specializing in Couples Therapy for ambitious couples.  People come to me to help them solve relationship issues involving past traumas, infidelity, intimacy, conflicting goals, family troubles and more.  Clients are looking to improve their relationships and get to a better spot—one of empowerment, romance, and fun.

It’s not always easy for couples, to have big aspirations.  I like to explore the cause of your issues to understand the real problem.  I also help build a future goal roadmap for both partners, showing you how to get there in a fun and meaningful way.

Common questions about therapy for couples

  • My sessions are client-centered and collaborative, meaning that you and your partner decide what we work on together and set your own pace. I use an emotions-focused therapy approach to reenergize your relationship, which includes resilience-based therapy, compassion-focused therapy, trauma-sensitive mindfulness, culturally sensitive therapy, and EMDR processing.

  • The timeframe is based on your unique journey. If you experienced a single trauma incident in your youth or while in your relationship, therapy can provide fast results. If you have experienced various problems, therapy may take more time. I typically meet with couples once a week at first, allowing therapy to move at a steady pace. We can discuss this together and make a plan that fits you. Your needs come first.

  • Often, we have issues in our youth that repeat themselves and are stored as memories, which can be triggered by similarly viewed or felt occurrences in our adult lives. This can cause similar symptoms to reoccur, which may not be easily understood until you evaluate them with your therapist. Trauma–EMDR therapy is a tool I use to relieve you of these present symptoms and old misconceptions about what occurred to you in the past so that you have a lesser chance of having similar symptoms impact you and your relationship in the future.
